1. Safer Shorelines has launched a “Teach the Teacher” program to provide scholarships to 1000 swimming teachers worldwide. This program is carried out in cooperation with SSI and national swimming organizations.
  2. The main goal of the program is to prevent drowning, which is the most common cause of death in children aged 1-5 years.
  3. The “1000 swimming instructors” initiative aims to guarantee 10,000 children free swimming lessons. Each participant undertakes to teach 10 children to swim free of charge within 2 years.
  4. There are several ways to become part of the program, including signing up as a partner, motivating employees to become swim instructors, or applying for a scholarship to help with training costs.
  5. The program also has a donation option where you can donate the full cost of training or an amount of your choice.
  6. The goal for 2023 in Austria is to get 5-10 coaches and sponsor another 5-10 swimming instructors.
